We’ve had a very wet spring in Ohio. It has rained and rained and rained. But what I love about spring showers besides the fact they lead to May flowers, is the April moss that start to show up on trees.
So in an attempt to decorate our house for spring, I found some artificial moss and cardboard letters at Hobby Lobby.
The nice thing about the moss I bought was that it came in these sheets which made it really easy to apply to the letters.
I simply cut the moss to shape of the letters and then used a hot glue gun to apply. It was a messy project when it came time to cutting as little pieces of moss went everywhere.
Here’s the end product. I was making this for our fireplace mantle but the letters were too large so the shelf next to the fire place is a temporary spot (it doesn’t even fit there very well). I love the fact that these bring some moss into the house. There’s just something about that green color and texture that I absolutely love.
